Privacy Policy

Here’s the updated policy with GDPR (EU) and CCPA (California) sections added:

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 26 June 2026

Who We Are

This privacy policy applies to nobodymistme.com (“we”, “us”, “our”), a website about pothos and houseplant care. Our website address is: https://nobodymistme.com

If you have any questions about this policy, you can contact us at: caroline@nobodymistme.com.

What Data We Collect and Why

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string, to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Contact Forms

If you contact us via a contact form, we collect your name and email address in order to respond to your enquiry. This data is retained for six months and then deleted.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year.

Embedded Content From Other Websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Email Marketing

If you subscribe to our email list, we collect your email address and, if provided, your first name. This information is used solely to send you the newsletter and related content you signed up for.

We use Kit to manage our mailing list. Their privacy policy can be found at [link]. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email we send you.

We will never sell or share your email address with third parties for marketing purposes.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website. Google Analytics collects information such as how often users visit the site, what pages they visit, and what other sites they used prior to coming to this site. We use the information to improve our site.

Google Analytics collects only the IP address assigned to you on the date you visit this site, rather than your name or other identifying information. We do not combine the information collected through the use of Google Analytics with personally identifiable information.

Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to this site is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.

You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Affiliate Links

Some links on this website are affiliate links. This means that if you click a link and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We only recommend products and services we genuinely believe in.

Clicking an affiliate link may result in cookies being placed on your device by the third-party retailer or affiliate network. We do not control these cookies. Please refer to the relevant third party’s privacy policy for more information.

Purchases and Payments

If you purchase a product from us (such as an ebook), your payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your full payment card details on our servers. Stripe’s privacy policy is available at: https://stripe.com/gb/privacy

We collect your name and email address at the point of purchase in order to fulfil your order and provide customer support.

Who We Share Your Data With

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the third-party services listed in this policy (Google Analytics, Stripe, and our email marketing provider) and only to the extent necessary to operate this website.

How Long We Retain Your Data

  • Comments: Approved comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely so we can recognise and approve follow-up comments automatically rather than holding them in a moderation queue.

  • Purchase records: Retained for seven years in line with HMRC requirements.
  • Contact form enquiries: Deleted after six months.
